WHP Conference 2024
Date: Wednesday 25th September 2024
Venue: Cefn Lea Conference Centre, Newtown
This year, we returned to the Cefn Lea Conference Centre, where colleagues participated in another water incident scenario. We had insightful presentations from Professor John Fawell on Future Water and Health Challenges, and Dr. Maggie Knights on Antimicrobial Resistant Genes in Wastewater and Environmental Samples across Wales, among others.

Colleagues re-familiarised themselves with the Water Incident Management Plan and had the opportunity to identify and discuss improvement ideas during a scenario based workshop.
WHP Conference 2022

There were some really useful discussions between colleagues and one of the outputs from the workshop is the commitment to form a new Temporary Events task and finish group. One of the objectives of the group will be to review and re-issue the Water Health Partnership Guidance for Temporary Events document. This has now been completed and can be found on the Publications page.
Covid-19 Restrictions
Covid-19 restrictions have meant that we have all had to consider alternative ways of keeping in touch with each other. The Partnership have produced a newsletter that provides an update on key developments in Water & Health matters and provides information on recent and current issues from Stakeholders.

WHP Conference 2019
Date: Wednesday 18th September 2019
Venue: Royal Welsh Showground, Builth Wells
The conference heard from a variety of speakers including Gian Marco Currado, Director of Environment and Marine at Welsh Government, on the government’s vision for the sector, as well as Professor John Fawell on the emerging challenges facing water and public health. There was also an update from the Drinking Water Inspectorate, and from Refill Cymru, on this year's progress with the Refill initiative. The event was brought to a close with final remarks from Professor Stephen Palmer.
